work-study positions and administrative internships
Ongoing workstudy and intern positions run alongside the Fall and Spring program seasons, therefore the postions begin in February and September, with some exceptions. The commitment each season is 5 to 6 months, depending on the duration of the programs and workload. Each season there at 2-3 openings.

The positions are generally categorized as:

  • Class Registration and Studio Maintenance (Workstudy)
  • Production Internship
  • Operations Internship
  • Development and Programming Internship
  • Marketing Internship

Depending on the needs of the organization at various points in time or the applicants qualifications and interests, the positions may shift or be merged. These categories are to provide a general overview of the workload and duties.

The Workstudy exchange is 10 hours of work per week in exchange for unlimited free classes and some workshops. 

Movement Research usually offers 4 summer Internships and 2 winter Internships. These shorter, seasonal administrative internships are geared toward college students or new graduates looking to continue and develop on their education in a professional setting. The hours range from 15 – 25 hours per week and are specifically designed to interface with school requirements. Classes are ongoing during these “off-season” periods, interns may take classes for free and take at minimum one MELT workshop as part of their internship experience. For winter internships we accept applications in the fall and for summer positions we accept applications in March and early April. All final decisions on internships for the winter are made by Thanksgiving and for the summer by mid-April. If deadlines are extended, extension dates will be posted on our website.

  • Summer Positions: Development/Programming, Marketing, Operations, Archival
  • Winter Positions: Marketing/Programming, Operations/Development
