Karl Cronin
: With a background in modern dance, Cronin took an extended break from performing to study cognitive development at Harvard’s Lab for Developmental Studies and Harvard Medical Schools’ Music Neuroimaging Lab. Cronin returned to performing and creating choreography in 2004, and has since presented performance works that blend together art practice and scientific process at the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art, Green Street Studios, The Dance Complex, and on location in over 14 states. He is currently working with a team of dancers and researchers to collect, catalogue, and display the physical embodiment of natural substances and processes. The development of this project was supported through iLAND, Inc’s iLAB Residency Program.  His website is http://dryearth.org

Daria Faïn’s choreography has been presented in New York at The Kitchen, Danspace Project, Movement research and the 92nd Street Y, among other venues. Faïn founded her company Human Behavior Explorers in 2000, and, with architect-poet Kocik, founded the non-profit organization Universal Coverage, Inc., in 2008. Faïn’s work is based on two decade of practice in the Asian philosophy of the body, American dance training, and the study of architecture. Faïn’s research on impaired senses has led her to work with patients in the fields of neurology, psychology and with blind-deaf individuals, leading to a complex understanding of the body as a resource of knowledge.  Her website is http://www.prosodicbody.org.

Charlotte Gibbons is from Rosendale, NY; she is currently living and working out of Space Space in Ridgewood, NY. Charlotte graduated from SUNY Purchase in 2004, since then she has been teaching herself not to know.  Her most recent work disappearing never-ending return was shown at The Kitchen in February 2008. She can be seen dancing with Daria Faïn, Anna Sperber, Jennifer Monson, Leah Morrison, KJ Holmes, and Ray Roy III. Charlotte, along with composer Stephen Cooper and visual artist Geoffery Nosach, are the founding members of art team Eagle Ager. Eagle Ager continues to enrich her existence with invaluable lessons like discarding the ego, and the importance of play, laughter, and friends.

Jennifer Nugent is originally from Miami, Florida.  She was a member of David Dorfman Dance from 1999-2007, receiving a BESSIE in 2006 for her performing work with the company.  Jennifer has also worked with Daniel Lepkoff, Lisa Race, Shen Wei, Nina Winthrop, Yin Mei, Gerri Houlihan & Dancers, and Mary Street Dance Theatre. She has been a guest artist at universities throughout the U.S., Korea, and Vietnam.  She continuously collaborates with Paul Matteson and their work has been presented at Rhode Island College, Middlebury College, Velocity Studios in Seattle, Florida, and Danspace Project in New York City. Jennifer is also currently working with Martha Clarke.

Sakura Shimada
is from Japan. She came to NYC in 1997. In NYC, she has worked with Shua Group, Ei Arakawa, Jenni Hong and Aydan Turker.  She has been studying and working with Daniel Lepkoff for the past 5 years and traveled through Europe, Russia, and Turkey, working with people in those places. She has been working with an improvisational approach to making dances and researching and developing a way of looking at the details of movement.

Stacy Spence’s work has been commissioned by EDge at London Contemporary Dance School, The University of New Mexico, and most recently OtherShore Dance Company in New York. Stacy danced with The Trisha Brown Company (1997-2006), and continues to lead classes, workshops, and lectures focused on Trisha Brown’s repertory as well as restaging several of her works.  He received his MFA from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and while in NYC he has danced and collaborated with Polly Motley, filmmaker Molly Davies, and numerous others. Stacy continues to move with others through teaching, collaborating and making work.

Arturo Vidich is an inter-media artist from New York. His approach to experimental performance uses technology and movement to identify and reflect upon the way we process information through the senses. He is interested in treating the performer's body and sculptural materials as interchangeable objects, and the possibilities that emerge out of resistance and limitation. Arturo likes doing projects that demand learning new skills, and incorporate his studies in dog training and different cognitive abilities. www.culturepush.org
